i have a rx7 rearend laying around will it fit on an astro with 20's or 22's what will the offset be on the rims has any one done this?

or does anyone know the width from rim-rim so it could tuck?

never even heard of anyone trying this it should work. im pretty sure the rx7 rear is narrow enough your best bet is to weld it up in place and then see wat kind of offset you can run. i think it would look cool with some really deep 20s

independent RX7? It is quite a bit wider than most chevy axles, I think the rx rear is 58 inches wide.

And the gearing would be a problem on the highway, most astros have about 3:07 rear gears, the RX rear is 3:90, that will equal about 3500 rpm at 70 mph.

3:90's in Chevys are good for 1/4 mile drags but not so highway friendly. Doesn't matter what enging you put in it. the only thing that would make a 3:90 highway friendly is a larger wheel tire combo, or different gears in the tranny.

i've played with the 8.5" thunderbird independent rear, they work well also and can handle some good amount of hp....
