just curious as to how everybody else moves their cabs and beds onto and off of their frames.

i work second shift so all of my boys are either at work or sleeping a lot of the time when i work on my pickup. it gets to be a pain to try and round up 2 other people to move my cab from the floor to the chassis.

just looking for some ideas that you have actually done before... maybe rig something up with my engine hoist? i'm not sure if mine is even big enough to get that hight up

If you have some rafters go get some pulleys and some rope.

as far as moving a bed, its pretty easy if it has tie downs in the corners. I use an engine hoist and run two heavy duty tie straps diagonal to each tie down and where they cross i hook up the engine hoist.

Just keep some beer around the shop and the labor will show up.

Have a BBQ on the weekend. I did that for putting my cab on the last time, had like 20 people there.

the problem is that i work weekends and there is a 4 foot snow drift outside of my garage door, so i can't do the rope thing or the bbq idea... i hate working in a government funded shop

I put the bed of my old Mazda on a (Lil Bigger Than The Bed)peace of carpet and moved it all over the place. When it came time to put it back on the truck I moved the bed to the back of the truck and pulled it up onto the rails useing the carpet.

I made a stand out of 2x4 studs and put wheels on it.. Rolls perfect around the shop.. the paint guy loved it because he wouldn't have to carry it around his garage
