Need help with keeping my factory fuel guage.

If I knew the factory specs on the factory fuel sending unit for a 99 lincoln navigator I would be able to keep my guage, Though I can't seem to find it anywhere. The new sending unit I have to purchase has to match the factory specs to work. Dont know to much about all of this just what im learning going along... If someone can help out any with this let me know. Thanks

what you need is a multi meter after getting one set it to ohms and take out your sending unit and use the probes of the meter to test the load have it all the way down and take a reading then move the float all the way up and take that reading that will give you the number you need but with it being a ford product it might be the same as say a mustang or some thing contact autometer and ask them or your local lincoln dealership but find someone in the part dept. they have manuals for them tat will tell them the ohm loads that you would need hope this helps some
