Well I believe every state is different but I know in North Carolina if there is a lost title then you need a bill of sell to get one. Its not to much of a hassle if you don't have the bill of sell but it will require some foot work and a lil extra cash but not to much. But like I said I believe every state is different.

like ^^ he said, every state is different. but most will require a bill of sale in which the owner states "lost title". then some states require that the vehicle has not been registered in "x" number of years, i think FL is like 5 or 7. good luck man

Texas is fairly easy to get a title... as long as you know who the last registered owner was. The last registered owner can apply for a lost title and then sign it over to you. Thats what I am doing on my car and have done on numerous cars. If you have any other questions post them. I'm a dealer and I have a title clerk that knows it all when it comes to titles.

all you need is a bill of sale in GA. googel your states DMV and look it up.
