i have heard of a scam..

i have heard of a scam where they say they are sending you a check lets say you want to sale your truck for 6000 and they agree and say they are sending you a check in the mail for 13000 as a cashiers check and you cash it and send your truck to these people along with the title and info but then the bank calls you and says you need to return the money cause the check was a fraud.. has anyone heard of this because i just got that email and rememberd some people on here saying they got burnt by it and lost their truck..

Oh yea. I get an email like that pretty much everyday b/c I have things listed on craigslist. Just ignore the emails but if the email was sent through ebay then foward the message to spoof@ebay.com

yes one of the more popular ones out there, dont do it what it is: is they ask you to send them the balance or whoever for that matter and you get screwed for cashing a fake check and arrested or fined and they get your money that you sent them. my dumbass brother fell for it last year and he owes the bank 1200 dollars now for a scam.

you will get the blame if you try to cash there fake checks or money orders or whatever.
when i was selling my truck i got about 3 a day from different people, i just write them back and tell them to fuck off

they dont want your truck. They want you to send the extra money to the "shipping company" by western union as soon as you get the check. Then the check bounces a few weeks later and YOU are stuck paying back every cent.

The scam is western union, even if you send it to someone in Peoria IL, if they have the confirmation number they can pick it up ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Which is usually Nigeria or Lagos Africa. Its called a 419 check scam. People think the check is legit because its a cashiers check and clears right away. It only clears right away as a COURTESY to ther banks, they still confirm it and when its found to be bogus the money gets pulled from your account.

They dont want your truck. THey just want you to send them money by Western Union.

exactly...they dont want ur ride, if u ask 6 they might send u twelve and tell u to send six back, well u now owe the bank six grand

well no fucking shit, this motherfucker is tryin to do this tome right now, send me 11k and i keep 7 and give the rest to the shipping company. Even sent me the tracking # for DHL and i tracked it, looked good, so to doublecheck i called DHL and they told me that you can make up a "pickup" and tracking # on their website, but they never picked up the package cause it was never there. I swear to god i would love to find these fuckers and kill them for wasting my time. >i havent got jipped, but it sucks people leading you on
