circuit city has the plugs that are universal on one end, and plug into the cd player on the other end. they sell them this way to minimize installation time for diy'ers, they sell the universal on one end/vehicle adapter on the other end. that way instead of splicing 20 wires together, you just plug in 3 plugs, car-universal plug-cd player. I think they're $25 or so. Hope this helps. I know they make them for sony cause i got one a few years ago. Let me know how it works.

go to a sony dealer, they should have the extra harnesses. hes not talking about the middle harness, that connects to the deck harness and dash harness, hes talking about the one that plugs into the actual head unit.

an actual car audio shop should have them if they are a sony dealer.

try ebay. they're usually really cheap. I just bought the plug wires for my Alpine IVA-D310 and it was only about $40 all together.

that's what i'm talking about, it plugs into the head unit. you unplug the stock harness and plug this one in, but the other end ends in a universal plug that circuit city also makes, it just eliminates having to butt connect a bunch of wires. you can use it for anything, just cut off the universal plug and butt connect away.

here's the link:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Metra-Radio-Wiring-Harness-SY-1680A/sem/rpsm/oid/113642/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

and a direct quote from the circuit city site:

Radio wiring harness: One plug inserts into the back of the radio, and a universal plug connects to the Metra vehicle wiring harness. No bare wires to join and solder
