a friend of mine and his dad are thinking about putting a 460 engine out of an old lincon town car into a 1st gen ranger. Anyone ever seen this done? i know many people do 302's and some 351's maybe but a 460 to me seems like it would be gigantic and wouldnt even fit under the hood?

any input?

the height probably wont be as big of an issue as width and length. the term "shoehorn" comes to mind...

ive seen a box s-10 with a 502 in it before, so where theres a will theres a way.

i know its almost apples to oranges, but the trucks are similar size and both motor are gargantuan...

should be bitchin if they do it!

Hey if Gale Banks can fit a Cummins into a Dakota you can fit a 460 in a Ranger. Just keep in mind that the firewall was recessed in a major way. Good luck.

That black truck looks like caca with the motor half way through the hood. The ranger in that booklet looks sweet with the 460 and its down in the chassis. Someone should clear everyone away and throw a hand grenade through the invisoglass.
