They didn't use any sealant. And they didn't do it from the factory either. The windshield holds my headliner in.

my 89 toy had a rope in windshield gasket, I had them urethane the glass in and used trim around it. I got the trim from a flush glass kit made for a volkswagen bug, got it out of the back of VW trends I think from JBugs. That was an easy 11 years ago though lol.

BTW urethane-in windshields were an option for the 89 model, seems like only the 4 spd carb'd single din radio opening trucks didnt get it (mine was a 4spd base carb'd truck). I know he used my stock rope in glass though, because it was already brand new. Call a glass guy and see if they can urethane yours in, it looks a lot better flushed in than the big gasket.

Wood isn't really my thing, but this turned out better than I expected for a first shot. Just have to figure out how I want to finish it now.

I am very surprised by how well these 8" shallow (2.125" deep) mount subs sound. I had a single 10 in a truck box sitting on the floor for a few days before I got this finished, and these are actually clearer and hit harder. They're not as deep, but with some tuning they could probably be deeper. But I'm satisfied with them. They sound good with all types of music.

8 tend to be that way from my experience. i ran 4 in an ex cab mazda and loved them. would get down real nice and play anything with clarity. that was ported as well, not sealed.

Yeah these boxes are really tiny. I had almost no room for a box behind the seat, so these worked out great. They require .1 to .4 cubic feet. These boxes are about .315 individually. Sounds good.

They're clips. If you look on the bottom of a stock bench it looks the same way. Lol. I switched to ViAir at the show. And AZ still has not returned a phone call or an email, and my warranty is up in 2 days. They might pick up the phone then though, with my luck.
