ive never did it before but id run bracing inside from the bed to indise the cab, like in between the outter& inner skin, possble use square tubing & to fill the gap id use a solid strip from a doner bed or cab. are you gonna cut the top off or leave it ? if your leaving it id also add a radius from the bed to the cab like bob grant has done to some of the trucks hes done, elcamino style

ive uniboided several trucks.. even a 74 long bed chevy. the key is to not try to do what your tryin to do. what i mean is your tryin to stop flex, thats a no go, every thing must flex, tryin to stop a car/truck whatver from not flexing is next to impossible. weld and build braces that allow flex, and keep your bondo work to a minimum where you weld bed to cab. finally make your felx points further back into the bed, as in so it doesnt want to flex at the bed cab weld joint

ok, cool. sirbodydragger, the radiused idea is firm in my mind, pretty much have a template sorted for that. idragbodyS10, i'm guessing you mean replicate mounts for the bed the same as the cab. cool. BK2LIFE thankyou for your input

How about making the area behind the door on the cab actually part of the bed but not actually attached to the cab? Basicly make the bedsides longer so that the front edge wrapped around the cab. The main issue I come up with for this idea is that the bed might flex enough that it would hit the door, plus getting the gap to look right would be a pain in the ass.
