Starter problems? help

the starter on my van(beater) is all of a sudden having problems, the starter got checked out, its good, all my wires are on there right. the problem is with the little wire that goes to the soleniod on the starter, if i bypass the wire then it starts fine... any ideas on what i should do and where i should start...? thanks in advance...

is the solenoid seperate from the starter. If so try changing the solenoid. If it is built onto the starter then you will have to get a new starter.
