okay what to use on a steel fuel cell that i'll be building do i need the metal-ready or not?
i just dont want to make the cell, then after a while the por15 starts coming off into the fuel pump. what have you USED and had no problems???
I think eastwood makes a gastank sealing kit.
I would use the por 15. Get the kit that has the metal ready and the cleaner. I think i paid 65 for the kit to do my 27 gallon cell. The stuff works good. Don't get it on you cause it take forever to come off. When i did mine, the first time I drained the por 15 out it almost all came out. So I poured it back in and then it covered good. Make sure you drain all the access out and you shouldn't have a problem.
doesn't por15 make a gas tank kit that they sell?
where might one find this por 15 stuff
I found it I think on their website, and yes it was a kit for a gastank sealer. Has some additive stuff to add to your gas everytime you fill the tank so that it won't come off, that stuff's easy to add also
why dont u just get gas tank sealer from a gas tank repair shop? its what people have been using for years

the gas tank sealing kit is like if youre fixing your tank thats had gas in it before. im going to build a cell. i just wanted to know what i should use to prep the metal, do i need to grind the metal with some 36 or 40 grit then use metal-ready then por15 and thats it?
