I thought Boyd sold the wheel business to american racing. Just what I heard though dont know how true it is....

he did sell the wheel business to AR so he can just focus on building hot rods, even though I would never buy a car of his after seeing how he treats the team that builds them...
my dad met him at a hot rod show in cali back in the 80's and said he's an even bigger prick than they show in TV...

Boyd Coddington wheel division was sold to American Racing... I ordered a set of American Racing Torq Thrust II's in December of 2004. I have 2 of the 4 wheels and I was just told that the other 2 are in Dallas and I should have them in the next week. I love the wheels but I will probably never order from them again. I would rather call BAD and have some custom made in 1/4 of the time.

I've been waiting since December 04. I got the 2 front wheels in December 05. Looks like I'm going to get the rear wheels in December 06. 2 Years!!!

Boyd Coddington is over rated. I went to his cruise a few months back with a buddy in a primered 1929 model A and they would not let us in... They said the dont take kindly to rat rods, We said its not a rat rod its a hot rod...
