I was wanting to get a Digital SLR camera. What would be good for a beginner. I was looking at the Canon Rebel 10.1 mp. Also where would be the best place to get it?
Nikon D50 is a great starter camera for a cheaper price. The Rebel is awesome too, just a little more cash. I love the Nikons though!

I have the olympus 500 killer camera, comes with 2 lenses, and is relatively cheap.
I've got a canon 20D... my first DSLR.
I love it.
I do need to get another lens for it though... something good for all around use.
I've got the lens it came with (28mm-55mm I think) and a 15mm fisheye
I don't know if it would be a good beginners camera but I bought the nikon D80 10 megapixel. I will probably end up taking a college class for it but I love tha thing.

I have last years model of the Canon Rebel ( 8.2 mp's), and I love it. I need to get a couple of realy good lenses but it still does a great job. The newest Rebel has a few new features, but is about 300 more than the 8.2 mp one. One of the nice features is a self cleaning sensor. Sensors are a pain in hte ass to clean, I always think I am going to scratch it. If you want to learn about taking pictures, and how to use the settings on the camera properly, you have to read a book called Understanding Exposures. It is the best book I have ever read, as far as being well thought out, and the Author explains everything so anyone could understand it. I thought I knew enough about photog'n, untill I read that.
i think the canon XTi will be a great camera, and if you invest in good lenses, they'll last far longer than the body, so you can upgrade to a professional series dSLR if you get into it

Man I love my Canon 20D. I got it off of ebay brand new and got a hella deal. I got a bunch of lens, a card, tripod, everything. It was only a little more than buying it from Wolfe.
