98 tacoma dash/3rd brake light out how to's?

anyone know or can please help me get the 3rd brake light off a 98 tacoma ( i just checked it out, couldnt really tell) and also how to get the dash off ( the main dash, like what about the airbag and any pointers) please anyone? im about to shave the 3rd bake light and start on my interior, smoothin it out. help me out. thanks laot. -later

take the headliner out and there are two nuts on the back of the third brake light. dash is as simple as taking all the screws and nuts out. very easy maybe ten total nuts and a handfull of screws. as far as the airbag the actual bag stays attached to the bracing and the dash comes out around it if i remember rite. good luck

^^thanks alot brandon, now i know why i couldnt find out the 3rd brake light, so the headliner must come out,( tonight) thanks. and with the airbag, i take it i should disconnect the battery to be safe? thanks. i will be pulling dash one night soon, after i do a few other things. -later

i got the bag on mine out without takin the dash out since i sold my bags prior to the b\d....but takin the dash out is cake as well...took me less than an hour to go from stock to gutted....goin from gutted to stock is a different story...

yea, selling your airbags on ebay is an easy way to make some cash to fund your interior. many ppl would rather buy a used one off ebay for $3-400 rather than $6-700 for a body shop replacement.

yup i got 550 for mine with all the sensors and the brain with it....offset the cost of the budnik wheel and then some....i plan o doin the same with the 4runner here very soon

thanks guys^^^ the 3rd brake light is coming off this week. im about to 'clean' the truck up and primer it next week. also the dash will be coming out soon, so this helps out. and yea, i might keep the pass. side airbag, not sure. but the steering wheel has to go after winter for sure. later
