Thanks Matt.

Jance, none of that stuff is insured. Plus, that would also take time I am sure to get the money. Not to mention its illegal.

you know what else is illegal, identity theft and stealing. So don't sit there on your ass and say your going to cut your losses. My mom had a card stolen and they maxed it out, they called her asking about suspicious activity cause so much was used so fast. She didn't pay a dime of that card back. So what you need to do is stand up for your shit and not pay someone elses bills.... don't be a bitch, just fight for it

sorry if that seems rude, but i hate to hear this kinda stuff. especially when the victom is willing to just roll over and take it, don't be a poon and get your shit back man.

Honestly I don't know what to do to get the money back. My bank is saying that it only covers up to a certain amount because of my credit limit.

Well thanks for the kick in the ass. I just got off the phone with Visa. They said they're sure they can get it all back and they said they might be able to trace it to the buyer. They said that it was all kitchenwear bought in Oklahoma.

just in case here is a quote from the Federal Trade Commission website re: identity theft....it says you are legally only liable for $50 maximum per card. Their website is www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/cards.htm" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/cards.htm

Reporting Losses and Fraud
If you lose your credit or charge cards or if you realize they've been lost or stolen, immediately call the issuer(s). Many companies have toll-free numbers and 24-hour service to deal with such emergencies. By law, once you report the loss or theft, you have no further responsibility for unauthorized charges. In any event, your maximum liability under federal law is $50 per card.

If you suspect fraud, you may be asked to sign a statement under oath that you did not make the purchase(s) in question.

For More Information

The FTC works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop, and avoid them. To file a complaint or to get free information on consumer issues, visit www.ftc.gov or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The FTC enters Internet, telemarketing, identity theft, and other fraud-related complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure, online database available to hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad.

I'm just guessing, but judging by the things bought I would say it was a woman. It sounds like Visa is going to get it worked out. I was able to talk to someone else this time.

Regardless, I still need to sell something. Even if I do get the money back, it will be in a month or so.
