I have one of these:
I know my main battery cable goes through it, what about my alternator cable, should it go through the switch too or straight to the battery?
i just go straight to the battery from the alternator
you don't need to worry about the alternator
you know you can get those switches @ wal-mart now...lol
I've got a related question (sorry for butting in on your thread). But I was thinking about picking one of those up and putting it on my battery ground (I'm using both positive terminals on the battery for audio, truck, comp's) then I can just flip the switch and weld away. Anyone see any problems with that?
this may be a dumb question,i tend to have a lot of them here lately, but why would you want or what is the purpose behind a battery cutoff switch?
they are for people like you who love to lock themselves out of their trucks when they kill the battery and their poppers dont work.

For me, since my truck is just a show vehicle thats not being driven every day, its nice to have a switch you can pull to "unhook" your battery. So your battery wont be hooked up all the time.
