Gauges going nuts!

HELP! I have a `01 s-10 x-cab. I was coming home from work this morning when all of the sudden every light on my cluster started flashing on and off. My gauges would peg out one minute, drop to zero the next, would be normal the next, etc... My speedo pegged at 100mph and stayed there. I thought the aliens had done come back, you know how they love us rednecks. LOL. Anyway, as far as I can tell everything else is o.k., truck runs, etc... Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?
