to build a frame for something you dont have the stock frame for? why do i ask? well i'm goin to look at a 94 4dr explorer thats just the body firewall back and nothing else, can get it for like 25 bucks so i might hop on it. 1st step would obviously be to get some sort of front suspension which will be a toyota clip. then from there i guess alot of measuring and making sure i get the rails put in the right spot so i can get body mounts in the right spot and so on. does any1 have any tips or ideas that would make this seem easier for me? i know i can do it, its not a matter of lack of skill, just trying to get as many ideas as i can to see if its really worth gettin myself into. thanks

yes! body mounts wont be hard. just so you know you have to relocate the rear body that is in front of the axle from the inside of the frame to the outside.

the good thing about an explorer is you dont need more then a bout a 2 in stock floor to lay rockers. i did my buddies back in 03.

a 4 link yes, youll have to raise the floor up for it. i had to move the body mounts from the inside to the outside of the frame.

we took the cab off my truck and tossed all the factory frame, suspension, fuel in the garbage. The garbage man was pissed that day.... set your front and rear suspention to center with the truck laid out and build to that.

you could prob prob take the mounts off the seat and mount it to the floor that your raised up.there is a good foot below that rear seat.
