Fixit ticket - CHP style

The same CHP cop pulled me over for the second time in kings county for 20% on my windows and gave me a fixit ticket. Its frustrating cuz here in SLO county cops could give a shit how dark my windows are. Is it true that i can find a cop, show them my cleared windows, and just have them sign off the back of my ticket? Or do I have to go to a CHP station? Any help/personal experiences would help.

Fines will differ from county to county. Technically, yes it can be signed off by any Ca peace officer, provided he checked the "yes" box and not the "no" box. I'm sure you know, "yes" box means you can fix it, "no" box means a fine. CHP used to have a white copy ticket for correctable violations. They get mailed back to the office after it's fixed and shredded. From what I understand, (from the CHP) those aren't processed through the court (WHITE COPY). If you got the standard yellow ticket, it will be processed as usual.

Sometimes CHP will write "clear through CHP only." Some police or sheriff depts. might refer you to CHP, but they can sign it, CHP is just trying to avoid a friend or some rookie letting 50% slip by. CHP will never see that ticket again, unless you take it to them to be signed. I believe they keep a 4th green copy on file at their office for court purposes, but your yellow will only be dealt with by the court. hope it helps.

hey i think i know him.....

I have had my share of fix it tickets back when I had tint on my windows. You can either pay the fine and keep the ticket or you can fix your windows and pay 10 bucks for a processing fee. Any cop can sign it off though, they just sign, put thier agency and thier badge number.

i have recieved a ticket for tinted windows and for the price of stripping the windows getting the ticket signed off and having the windows retinted its not worth it so im just going to pay the 100 fine and be done with it.

Thats why i got an extra set of side windows for my truck. It only takes about an hour to change out both sides. I would rather do the labor than pay the 100 bucks.

its all about the instacling tint at walmart.. thats how i got away from it the fist time but when the cop caught me again he wasnt so cool.

20% is not even that dark. What are they complaining about?
