what is the regulation for tail lights

what is the regulation for tail lights b/c i have seen the in shaved tailgates and i was wonder ind is there anyway they have to be in there can i put them on an angle or mabye i can put one on the top and one on the bottom i was wondering what the law was for that any replys would be helpful b/c im new to the mini trucking world thanks

I thought they just had to be reflective... which most aren't. I always get nailed for my licence plate light burning out never the taillights.

yea. where do u live at. it varys for states.

must be at the furthest point of the vehicle, reflective, contain reverse, signal, brake lights.

and half the custom tails dont, so it is all up to the cop if they want to harrass you or be fine with it

ive been told they both have to have equal heights... however they can be slanted just have to be equal height.

i havn't been hassled yet. not reflective, no reverese lights. I don't think cops really look out for it since it doesnt seem like it'd be a common citation they look out for.
