ok i have a 93 chevy s10, the clutch is shot im pretty sure. the clutch pedal hits the floor when pressed in and doesnt return to a upright position without being pulled back up by hand..
also anybody know how much a typical clutch replacement goes for on a s10

Could be just the slave cylinder gone out. That happened to my isuzu. 30 bucks and about 30 minutes later it was as good as new.

yeah check the slave cyl 1st, could be shot or might just need to be bled

Erik doesn't know what he is talking about, check the master cylinder first, then the slave. Don't forget to check the flexable lines also, i have had them fail also.

Not to jack anyones thread or anything, but what about when the clutch pedal won't go down at all. I mean I could stand on that bitch and it won't move! What could that be? It's a 95ish nissan hardbody with the 4 cylinder. It's for my boy, Meeknissan.

man i had a nissan that was like that, the slave cylinder was locked up and i had to replace it. i stood on that pedal and the line EXPLODED off of the master cylinder. looked like someone set off a brake fluid pipe bomb in my garage.

usually on chevy's,if you put in a new cylinder and don't replace the other one, the one you didn't replace goes out also.

when working w/ hydrulics, its agood thing to replace them both at the same time, i e calipers/wheel cyliners also.
