well my question is, i have an 06 canyon, i'm running the djm 3/4 drop kit, which has lower control arms up front and 4 inch drop blocks, well in the instructions for the control arms you can't use drop springs, my question is belltech makes a 2 inch balljoint flip kit, will i be able to use that? i don't have th cash to bag it but thatd put me pretty low if they will work, thanks for the help guys

I would think you could because all the control arms really do is lower the mounting point for the strut, but don't quote me on that one

i'd ask that question over at www.coloradofans.com but i'm pretty sure you can't do that.

it would depend on a few variables...like are you cutting out the inner fenders?? and what size wheel/tire are you running?? i have a 4" total drop on the front of my colo and it's a tight fit...i wouldn't go much more without cutting out the inner fender and tossing the front bumpstops

no i don't wana cut the inner fenders. i just want it lower, the balljoints are another 2 inches that would give me a 5 inch drop in the front, thanks for the help guys

i would think you wheel would be getting super close to rubbing the bottom of your lower control arm. that is why you dont run lower control arms and drop spindles on vehicles.

if you don't want to cu, then you definately need to stick with the control arm/block drop. i'm not going any lower for now (bags are in the near future) b/c i'll have to toss the inner fenders.

I don't mind cutting, Thats what it's all about but for now if i don't have to i would rather not! And i can't run spindles and control arms beacause they don't make spindles yet, but i see what your saying theyll come close to rubing the rim, but is that only if i have my stock 15's or is that true even with a 20?

no with 20's it would be fine, what i am saying is raising the ball joint is the same differnce as a drop spindle. a drop spindle raises the wheel in the suspension area, raising a ball joint does the same thing. i know there are no spindles for a colorado. i am sorry i was not clear enough

o ok i got you, i have never messed with the ball joint stuff, so do you think i should do it now or wait till i get my 20's. cus i wana do that then get my springs rearched, give me about a 5/7 drop. 3/4 just isn't low enough

you need to get in there with a tape measure. if it is going to move your lower ball joint up 2 inches and you go from a 15 to a 20 than technically you gain 2.5 inches of space which you only need two inches to add the spacer. so yes with 20's you should be fine and it shouldnt rub the wheel. hope this helps. cookie
