are emissions laws pretty bad where you live? Because you would probably be paying more for a supercharger than you would be if you bought a 6.0 liter out of a late model chevy full size van from a junkyard, put a cam in it, and reflash the computer, and you can get about 400 NATURALLY ASPIRATED, reliable horsepower. You would never need more than that.

you can get a ls1 for cheaper, b/c the 6.0's are so common right now with performance guys.. an ls1 with bolt ons (i mean, air intake, headers, exhaust and tune) and then add a few certain cams, can make you 410-420 rwhp in a 'cam only' motor and still get 16-18 in town, 24+ on highway.

you'd only need the motor and engine harness if you got a 4l60e in your truck now.

if you want a S/C for the TBI motor.. Whipple makes a roots style and Vortec makes a centrifugal

I've seen junkyards that will sell 6.0 liters for 900 bucks before shipping. Places down south i think. And how much will all those bolt ons cost, on top of the cam, and flash when the cam and flash IS all you have to do to the 6.

But, like potter said, you wouldnt have to change trannys so it WOULD probably be cheaper to go LS1. BUT the 6.0's Are SOOO much more capable for future upgrades.

I heard wipple wasn't doin so well and they were gettin ready to go under, but I'll beleive it when i see it.

can you get me some numbers to places selling complete 6.0's for 900 bucks? 6.0's have a lot of advantages if you are going 'all out'. 6.0 can be nice for a cruiser too.. i like the LS1 b/c of the all alum block and heads, really makes for a light load. A friend has a 'cam only' ls1 in a 93 stepside fullsize and without a tune, it ran 13.2's, with a tune, it ran deep 12's on street tires. Still got 25-26 mpg on the highway and 20 in town. Cant really beat that!

Also, for the performance of a supercharged TBI motor, you will suffer in gas mileage. they get shit as it is, swapping to an LS1 you will start with more base power and have greatly approved mileage and performance.

if you decide to go this, your stock 4l60e will need 1 new hole drilled into the bellhouses, the gen3 4l60e's have an extra bolt.

good luck with whatever you do.

again, get me some numbers to 900 dollar 6.0's please, i'd love to fall into a few for later on or to make some cash from. they sell for 2g's plus on ls1tech all day long.. b/c of them being so popular for turbo setups b/c of the Iron block and the big port heads.

thats 900 without a wiring harness. And they are coming out of the vans, so the cam is going to be very small so they dont put out much. But since you would change out the cam anyways, why not. I beleive they come with the throttle by cable in the vans also. I ll get you a link. My buddy sent it to me a while back, ill look for it and see if i still have it.

back to his original ? yes you can get s upercharger for your motor. look at jegs.com, summit.com, they have kits, and then shop around you can find super charger kits fro pretty cheap nowadays. id rather be "blown" i think it looks way better, and you dont have to swap, drill, cuss, or anthing to mount a super charger.
