i was just wondering if any one has had the siloniod stay open when using the remote and the 12v wire from the source smoked and got beat red and brokr 9 almost caught fire)please help

never had it happen, i did have them stay open, i just greased it up and no problems since.

yea but wire almost caught on fire and i dont want to do any thing until i know whats going on

well did you use relays or did you just try and hook it up straight off the brain? and second it shouldn't catch fire if you fuse it. just my 2 cents

I had a relay stick one time and I heard it pop and never let loose. Luckily it was while I still had the door panels off and I disconnected it. It was stuck for about 2 minutes and the popper itself was really hot but not the wire. I thought what if that happens often and I can't get to it to disconnect it. Guess that's what I have insurance for.

If you got a wire inside your vehicle smoking and almost catching fire I don't think it would be a bad idea to put a fuse on it. Its just not something I would feel safe not doing.

I RAN MINE BEFORE WITH NO FUSE --- A PRETTY STUPID THING THOUGH I WAS LEANING ON THE BUTTON ON MY REMOTE -- NEXT THING I NEW -- SMOKE WAS SOMING OUT OF MY RAG TOP -- ALL MY SOLENOID WIRES WERE STARTING TO FRY ---- PLEASE GET A FUSE ON THAT THING ---- FOR YOUR SAFETY AND YOUR TRUCKS SAFETY -- MY 2 CENTS !!!

i figured it out i had the 3rd buton and the 1st wired together and it was send 12v through the costint 12v wire the on that melted thanx for the help
