ok there is an old timer that only works with c10s in my town. He has had about 3 or 4 since i've known him and all have been rediculously badass. Well he has a single cab shortbed right now that needs a little body work and a paintjob. It has a hot ass motor in it and the interior is finished. He also has the front roll pan, the tailgate, new chrome door handles, and front part of bed. He wants to trade for my Sonoma. I know his will be worth more than my and probably allready is. What do you guys think?

My truck:

you might be better off selling yours and buying one a little nicer... it'd be nice to see the interior that's done too...

ummm, yeah.

I'm sure by now the blood has returned to your brain and you have walked no, RAN back over there to finish the trade. And if you havent you better get there before he comes to his senses.

Jeeze you would so be getting the better end of that trade.

personally i wouldnt especially since they just closed down a section of oil lines in alaska which meens ta dah gas prices will surely be 3.50-3.75 a gallon in 2 weeks. personally i like both trucks. im not sure what you average gas milage wise. i know back and forth to work not tuned up recently on 20s about a 10mile trip back and forth gets me a half a tank for 2 weeks and also costs 50 till fill up totally as gas is priced currently. personally i wouldnt want that beast of an engine for a daily driver. power it may have but god damn your gonna spend more in gas than primer and suspension and body mods

if you're like me and the sonoma is a show truck, do it. i'm semi thinking about trading mine for a bagged suburban or an 85ish c10. i'm running out of time and money, and mine's not close to being done. i have a 1year old daughter, and the only time i can work on mine is from 11:30pm to 2am or so depending on when everyone goes to bed or she wakes up pissed.

gas mileage? A 2.2 sonoma isnt exactly a miser (I own one) and V8's can get good mileage if you keep your toes out of the carburetor.

But that has very little to do with it. There isnt exactly a shortage of 95 2.2 S10's. Its very clean, but you are still prisoner to what someone will pay, which isnt much. A SWB C10 though, I read this weekend that Finnegan paid 3k and his had rust. Make the body as clean as the S10 (and I know you will) and you are talking an easy 7-8k truck. Make the whole truck as clean as your S10 and you can get more.

Really, if you dont want it, I'll happily trade him the 98 2.2 Sonoma SLS I just picked up for yard work. It cost me 1850 bucks. That should tell you something.
