compressor/tank question

I have 2 viair 450 compressors and 2 5 gallon tanks. I know the viairs are rated at 150psi and not recommended to fill more than a 5 gallon tank, and the tanks are rated at 150psi apiece, so my question is: If i have 2 5 gallon tanks hooked together, would it be safe for my compressors and tanks to run 200psi? I would think that by hooking them together i should be able to run 300psi, but i only want to run 200 and i want to know if that's safe. thanks in advance for help.

hell ya man 2 450's should pump 200 easily i used to run 1 450 on an 8 gallon tank and run 200 with no problems

no you might get away with it. but the tanks and comps are rated at 150 not 300 togeher linking the tanks does not affect the pressure they are rated to hold. you probably be fine but just know that your running it passed its rating

i would keep it at 150 psi to keep the seals in the compressor piston good. Pressure doesn't double like that if you have two 150psi compressors

running 200psi on a viair450 really isnt that good
some people have done it, and some have had good luck with it
but it voids what lil warranty you have, and will shorten the lifespan of the compressor

thanks for the input, guys. i'd really rather run it at 200 because it takes at least that to get the back all the way up (without bumping it up a little at a time). 150 really does not give me much play, but i'll live with it until i get a belt driven. thanks again.

the tanks don't add like you mentioned, with the 300 psi. I'd say stick with 150 till you get the EDC. I've heard a couple of times that if you try to get warranty on one that has been ran at 200psi, they can tell by the seals and won't warranty it.

blitch, i've thought about that, but i want to keep my bed clean. right now everything's mounted under the bed, nothing in the bed floor, and i can't think of any way to hide a bigass nitrogen bottle.

I've ran 200psi to a 8gallon tank with one viair450, and it never shows signs of wear and tear. Ran it for like 2 years, then the head cracked due to water in the system I believe. It just so happen to be 20degrees when it happened haha.
