Ok, so i just got my truck back from the shop about a week ago, i had it bagged, well the guy that did the truck said i could set the pressure switch where i wanted it, he set it to max out at 160psi or so, i decided to make it 175. so i opened the cover (adjustable pressure switch, i believe square D?) and i turned the screw that made the spring expand and contract, well when i did this the compressor turned on for a second then shut off, now the compressor wont turn on at all. i bypassed the switch and the compressor works, what could be the problem??? blew the switch??? oh and the little piece that makes contact to turn it in is making contact al the time and it still wont power on. please help thanks

Try adjusting the pressure switch back to where it was. I don't know much about the adjustable switchess but it sounds like it may be set too low. How much pressure is in the tank at the time you did this?

if it is a square D the it should have two sides of contacts both wires should be on one side of it, so you could try to wire it on the other side of the switch if you have an ohm meter you could check it with that.

when i started it was at like 150 then after i could not get the compressor truned back on i tried hitting the switches to see if it would come back on,i did that till about 40psi which wont even air up the front bags

not sure with out seeing yours but on mine it is the nut on the end of the spring.

yeah, it was just a nut on the end of a spring, its weird cause the contacts are touching which means the switch is set to "open" and nothing is happening.

huh thats strange if the contacts are touching then it should work if you pull the wires out of the switch and touch the ends together the compresser runs, it thats the case i would say bad switch but theres not a lot to go wrong in those switches

so you think that by me turning that nut a few times it busted the switch? hmm, well guess i will go buy a new one and try that out lol.
