Hey what can i use to powdercoat my frame???? Im lookin for somthin thats easy to do but looks good.
You would need to contact a powder coating shop. It is not something you can do at home unless you have all the equipment including an oven big enough to put your frame in!!! A powder coated finish will last a long time unless you drag it all over the place then it will eventually scrape off.
You can use portable propane heaters to bake the powdercoat onto the frame. Its time consuming, but it can be done. Just move it from spot to spot until absolutely everything is baked. Personally, I'd take it to a shop, but if you're cheap...
yeah what they ^^ said. you can however paint your frame for less $$ and get a similar outcome, it is just easier to chip. check out your local oaint supply and ask for frame paint. its a lil bit thicker than body paint. also check out the eastwood company. they list alot of frame protectants.
dont be scared and go buy some rubberized undercoating from autozone for $5 a can.... u should be able to do ur frame with 4 hahah..... Thats just my professional opinion hahahahahah j/k
I like the rubberized undercoating for my interior floor, but thats about all. It acts as a cheap sound deadener.
As for painting a frame, I would go with Por 15. It will not chip or crack if you apply it right, and it can look damn nice if you get the glossy finish. You can get it in gloss black, and silver, even satin black. They also have other colors, but they need be applied in several layers. Very time consuming, and a lot more expensive. I'm coating my frame, and the bottom of my cab in Por 15. Nice stuff, and relatively inexpensive compared to powdercoat. About $100 will cover your frame, and you'll never have to do it again. You can spray or brush it on.
Yes to Por-15, great product!!Wear gloves, & if you spray it,use a respirator!!
