I have a 99 mazda x-cab that I want to install a large sliding ragtop, first off has anyone put a large rag in a ranger/mazda? Second anyone that has a one what problems did/do you have with it (besides leaking)? I want to put one in as big as possible and I am concerned about the rigidity of the cab after cutting a big hole in the roof, is there a certain amount of roof that I should leave? Any comments will help!

Yea I am not to worried about the cutting I'am just unsure of how big I can put in there. I want as big as possible, dose anyone have larger than 40x40 in a x-cab mini?

Mo do you have any pics of your ragtop, where did you get it from, and did you install it? How much roof do you have left around the rag? I was measuring mine and it looks like 40 wide and 35 long would work pretty good.

Are you talking about the transition to the x-cab on the taco, what did you end-up doing about that? Is yours 35 wide and 40 long, did you have to brace the roof or cab anywhere else, dose it still feel rigid? Alot of people say that over time the rag becomes hard to slide is that true? Why dose the locking system suck? Sorry bout all the questions but I want to know about everything before I cut a hole in the roof!

its a streetbeat ragtop i got a good deal from a buddy of mine that was on his truck so i bought it from him it takes a nice hunk of the roof roughley 3 1/2 inches to 4 inches on either side and about 5 from front to back just off the top of my head
