Ok i was toying with the idea of mounting an airtank inside the passenger compartment. The thing im worried about is when air in compressed it heats up im not to thrilled about a tank of hot hot air in the vechile . This may be me just worrying to much. Let me know and any advice is welcomed. the waves will be mounted outside the vechiles passenger compartment.

the tank might get warm but mine never got hot off an EDC it should be fine what id worry about is going death from the valves

It probably wouldn't be a problem, but keep in mind that a closed interior on a hot summer day can get over 160 degrees air temp, and dark surfaces can get over 200! The hotter that tank gets, the higher the pressure will go, which could take your tank, fittings and line past their max. pressure points. Maybe I'm being too cautious, but it's something to think about!

Is there some kind of math equation to see how much air expands in a certain temperature?

Put a safety release valve on the tank so if the pressure gets too high it will vent, and make sure that you use a 200 psi tank, I remember seeing a post a while back hwere a compressor kept going and it blew the tank out of the truck, as well as half the sheetmetal and windows....

at one point i thought about some how mounting my tank to the roof of my truck.(got this idea from seeing an amp rack mounted to the roof) ive got an ext. cab so id put it (of course) behind the seats on the ext. cab roof. thought that would be differant and cool. and the deal with the pressure getting high, u could just run steel braided line, i dont know what the bursting pressures are but i know its a lot higher than your standard plastic line.

the air goin into the tank is not forced in fast enough to raise the temp to a threatening level...when we fill our SCBA tanks we use a cascade system ad it forces the air from 0-2216 psi in less than 2 minutes and the tanks are warm but not hot enough to warrant any consideration...i would be more worried about the outside ambient temp (or rising temp in the passenger compartment) raising the tank pressure...but still the tank rating are conservative for a reason...personally i think a tank in the passenger compartment is not a safe idea and i would not recommend it to anyone...keep it as far away from you or with olenty in between just in case of detonation...the relief valve is also another good idea
