You'll have to buy a new intake manifold and a carb. Have to adjust the timing alittle make it run a little smoother.

i think youll have to change the distributor also. edlebrock makes a manifold...

I think your truck will be worthless after you do it.

A few of my friends did it, and it look cool, like a nice little V8 in there with the carb on it and crap, but that motor was NOT designed with carburation in mind.

THe problem is the compression is WAYYYY low. You'll get horrible performance out of it, you're looking at loosing about 50-75 HP.

Also i don't think there's a distrubtor gear on the cam either?

yeah your compression is going to be off. Adjusting the timing will help some but not totally solve the problem. And it is true you will loose some performace

what about carberating a 350 from a 91 silverado going into an s10? Will i lose lots of compression and hp?

not really.

all the 350's are 8.5 to 1 stock.

carburated or not you should be fine on that motor.

it's when you take a motor that was designed ONLY for fuel injection.

The 350 was obviously built way before it was injected.

it might be wise to consider a head up grade or something similar though as a straight carbed 350 really isn't that great.

the cam has a gear on it because the motor has a stock dist, you just cant use it with the carb because ya need a computer to run the thing.
