which is the best the lexan or the new shit fbi sales acrylite?? i want a window like that with the tag but with also a led but i want a window that isnt EASY to scratch
acrylic or how ever u spell that..... cuz u can buff the scratches out and u can breath on in without fuckin scratchin it
lexan is 10 times stronger than acrylic...they both scratch...and i dont care what FBI says...i work with both substrates all day long...trust me they both scratch.....but lexan is much more resistive to surface scratching than acrylic...so if you want it i say go with lexan....and thats from a sign fabricator that works with the shit all day long....not fbi tryin to make a buck
alright does anyone know if cando still carries the lexan???? or tony could i get a lexan from down there??

Hey Tony, Which one has less distortion in the heat?
Don't get us wrong- standard Acrylite will still scratch. However, Polycarbonate (which is what everyone else uses and refers to as Lexan) scratches more easily, and it can't be polished as easily as FBI Acrylite. The material we use has a scratch-resistant treatment, which I don't believe any of the Lexan windows on the market have.
Additionally, we carry (as does any plastic shop) a polishing kit that you can use to repair small swirls and scratches in Acrylite. Polycarbonate windows typically cannot be polished well to remove hazing, which is why zoos and other public places tend to use acrylic instead of polycarb for their windows and aquariums- you can get rid of many of the smudges, key marks, etc. from it relatively easily.
Lexan IS more flexible and resistant to shattering than Acrylite, which makes it a great choice for race car and armored truck windows. Once the window is installed into your truck, however, the difference is nil.
Any other information about either material is more than welcome, but we did a LOT of homework when we sourced this material for our windows- that's part of what took us so long to get them rolling! I think Acrylite makes for a better truck back window than Lexan, but of course I'm trying to sell them! Anyone have experience living with both that can provide an unbiased opinion?
