Anyone have/used mid 60's mustang gas tank

im lookin to redo the tank in my sonoma. i like the look of the mid 60's mustang gas tanks cuz they are fairly flat and wider, and itll fit inder my bed easily and right between my frame rails.

anyone got any pics of one of these in a mini. How many gallons does it hold and whats the dimentions. also, if you have any pics of the ports on the tank, im trying to figure out what else ill need to make it work?

I'm using one... in my mustang though!

I'm just posting, cuz mine has a small puncture in the bottom (was a new tank 3 years ago...) and i'm buying a new one instead of fixing it, so IF you felt like paying for shipping, I'd send it out to you so you can try it out if you want... I'm a couple weeks from ordering the new one though, so not sure if that time frame would work for ya...

later 80's escorts used the same style flat gas tanks and wont cost near as much or need near the refurbishing as a rusty old 60s gas tank. The escort ones will already have an EFI fuel pump and a more reliable gauge sender too.

not really that pricey russ, w/o a sender they run about $100-125 for a brand new one... at least i don't think that's pricey...

yea... i went to discount auto and they had brand new ones for around 200 bucks. i need to see what kind of ports they use though. i need to get the lines and shit, so id like to know ahead of time.

anyone got pics of either the escort or mustang tanks?
