steering box help ?

i dont realy know wuts wrong but when i try to turn i makes a realy low click noise??? like my steering box is going out maybe ? or wut else could it possibly be ? and if it is the steering box i called the auto parts store they said they dont make them i would have to call a dealer ?? so wut years might bolt up the same ???
