they arent required to tell you how much, and its on the ticket that you have a certain number of days to pay or enter a plea.

So, you can call city hall and ask them how much the ticket is, or you can continue to wait and watch that amount triple or quadruple as they issue an arrest warrant.

They only write the fine amount on the back when they know for sure, or when you ask. Otherwise, just the violation will do.

Here is Wichita its assembly line efficient, they have 4 windows open every business day and roped lines right inside City Hall. They call it "City Hall Express" but its really just for those poor suckers who got caught in various speed traps around town. Those fukkin vultures, they arrange for 30 cops to be available when a temporary speed limit change is in place, like when a street sweeper idles down a section of the highway. Bastages.

my plan was to go to court and talk to the d.a to try and get it reduced but my prob is id really like to know how much the damn ticket is gonna be so i can bring money in case i dont get it reduced. and my problem is i dont get home in time from work till 6pm so all the offices are closed as is my bank and i have to be to court at 8:30 am which is a half hour before my bank opens so im gonna have a hard time getting them the cash and the last time i didnt have the cash they tried to put me in jail untill someone showed up with the 100 bucks for the court cost. but this ticket is in a different city

they take checks I think?
I would do what russ said and call the clerck of courts office and find out the fine. our city is so efficiant(sp) they have every fine on a bulletin board
90% of no moving violations went from 35 bucks to 75 bucks

I hear ya, but all that wont mean poop, they dont care what hours you work or what time it is or how little money you have. They just want "their" (your) money.

The judge will ask if you have a cell phone, and if you get a lunch break. Believe me, they will not be lienient, you are going to get porked unless you find some time to call.

Usually smaller cities will offer a lessening of the charge for double the fine + costs. I had a bullshit small town speedtrap ticket (65 mph highway, 50 mph for 100 feet) and they got me 20 over. It cost me 235 dollars ( the fine would have been 100 ) but it got knocked down to non moving violation. Frickin dirt road main street backward ass small town blazer drivin cop bastard.

Well if i was you i would get a lawyer to fight the ticket for you and you will not have to go to court and he will get it lowered so you do not get any points, it will cost a little more but you insurance will not go up.

i work 1 and 1/2hrs from where i live and the bank i use only has branches where i live and the shitty part is the court date is the day before payday and on the back of the ticket it says "NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED"

That sound just like here in tampa florida. But we also have the internet were you can pay the fee on-line, set court date, or get an 90 day extension to pay the fine. We also have phone #'s you can call to do all the same things I just mentioned over the telephone. Or over the mail.

As far as the lawyer if you get a reputable one is well worth it. I got a ticket 5 hrs away from my house. I hired a lawyer in that Town he went to court for me and insted of me paying the ticket, I payed him and I did not have to travel, miss work, or get points on my licence. He did ALL the work for me and I payed him over the telephone so it was very nice.

In California you don't get the fine amount on the spot. There are a couple of things considered before a fine is assigned. The amount at which you were exceeding the speed limit and your prior citations. Again, in Ca., you can do traffic school to remove the point every 18 months. A judge can allow you to do a 12hr traffic school if you've already been in 18 months.

Another option is fight it, but depends on you. Here in California if your using a radar/lidar device you've more than likely been to school on how to properly use it. Only only advantage to physically appearing in court is the cop might not show, then you win by default, no prosecution present.

There are all kinds of things that can get you off on a radar ticket, if he used a radar.
