fiberglassing or painting a dash

ok so on my dash its like rubbery underneath....how do you paint or fiberglass that.....if you sand it with 36 or somethin....wont it just ball up like your sanding rubber?

did u take off the vinyl yet?? solme dashes u cna pull the cinly off of it and its siolid underneath...if not..dependin on wut u wanna do..grab some fabric and wrap that fucker up...(long tedious proceess but looks tight as fuck)..

i havent taken anything off.....its still in the truck.....im just plannin ahead......but the airbag cover n glove box is rubbery 2.....so 2 smooth them out i just take what? ....like fleece or somethin n just put a couple of layers of fabric before glassin it?

iight some trucks..u can actually cut that rubberery vinyl shit right off...nto sure if u can with urs..but some trucks u can and its hard underneath...but if not...just wrap it with some fleece and glass the hell out of it..if ur handy with fiberglass it should come out nice as hell..its alot of work tho

If you look in the interior forum me and 2 other guys covered this topic well. Another thing i will add is that if you want alot of detail get a stretchy elastic fabric. Also dont forget to be scared of using staples.... you should be giving it all a skim coat of filler anyway
