i have a 86 toyota pickup its got the 22rEFI in it and i cant get to fire i put new plugs wires cap rotor coil igniter everthing i can think of can anybody help me please thanx

was it firing before you did this? toyota ignitors are different from year to year make sure its all the same. just a thought

check basics. make sure its producing spark. pull a spark plug out and keep the plug wire connected...ground the plug out and turn it over. spark should be blue and FAT.

make sure it has fuel pressure.

also make sure firing order is correct. 1-3-4-2

generally if it tries to start but wont stay running its fuel related OR messed up firing order/timing. if it flat out just cranks and cranks and cranks its generally spark.

easy fuel pump test is to spray carb cleaner in the intake. that will make it run if the fuel pump isnt doing so.

when i bought it it just needed a fuel pump got a new one it ran for about 30sec then quit no fire put on new ignitor checked for fire was gettin fire went to start nothing checked fire again nothing anyone know?

check the "air gap" on the signal generator in the disty.

Make sure coil is properly grounded it has to be bolted to metal this mistake cost me $300 for some asshole to bolt it back to my inner fenderwell. check all wiring in to coil, Mas airflow sensor on mine messed up but it still had spark
