my husband hates me working on my car

i just bought a 97 integra, (wanted one for years)i have had many fights about me wanting to modify it. my husband says since i have kids , i shouldn't be doing this, my kids love it......i have had it re-painted, had the dents removed from the previous owner, just bought konig - tuner 2 rims with toyo tires,17"..bought carbon fiber tail lights.

i want to lower it, add a short ram intake, and a few other things. every time i do something he freaks out. he would rather me drive an suv like a good little wifey...

i guess he is worried i will get in trouble for speeding again (i was arrested for doing 120 in a 55 four years ago, kids were not in the car, the road was empty, i couldn't help it)

I am doing this...nothing is going to stop me. i would rather buy stuff for my car than shop at the mall......

he gets jealous, i went for three years with out a car at all, he wanted me to stay home and just be a house wife, so i said hell no, i got a job, bought a piece of shit honda accord, worked two months, bought my integra.
he can not stand it when i get attantion....
really...we are different people..
but since we have kids, i try hard to be on the DL, i am not allowed to talk to any of my old friends that i went to car shows with, i can barely talk to any guy without him freaking the hell out....
he is also an alcoholic, and has brought me unwanted drama.
he has his car, it is in his mommy's name, so is the insurance, so, basically, i have my own policy that i pay, i pay my car payment, and i am responsible for paying the cable bill, phone, internet, that is it.
any other extra money i should be able to wipe my ass with if i want..

DAMN.....DUDE NEEDS A REALITY CHECK. BUT DO YOUR THING AND BE PROUD OF IT. AND TRY TO LET THE KIDS HELP ONCE AND AWHILE.LOL

Why the hell are you married to this person? Also, 120 in a 55? We don't street race, do we? If so, go f*ck yourself.

thats horrible, girls like you are few and far between, i know a ton of guys who would love to have a girlfriend who even gave a damn about a car, let alone working on their own! I got lucky cause my g/f wants to help me do everything i do to my car and her car, id say go find someone whos really into the tuner scene or any scene for that matter just so you could have someone to support you and not try to stop you

if he drinks, tell him you will stop modding the car when he stops drinking. even trade................and when/if he stops the marriage gets that much better. and the kids are in a better place.
