I am about to suicide my doors. My concern is that I am getting all new glass for the truck after I get it all finished up. My question is will this bracing plate on the door make it impossible to change the glass? I have no idea how to change the glass and I don't know if they would need the big hole at the bottome of the door to access anything?

On most cars and trucks you roll the window up to a certain point and they will be holes where the bolts or rivets are to hold the glass on, they shoul be the same on an s-10, so you shouldnt have to have a big hole to get the glass out

yea you may have to make some holes I cant see anyway of taking my glass out with the reinforcement plate but I will have to check again

Go look at a stock s10 and see where you will need to put some access holes to unbolt the glass, then you should be able to pull it right out the top. You may have to loosen up the tracks but you should have no problem.

I looked at it and there are no bolts or anything like that at all that hold the glass to the track. It's bacically a metal C channel with a rubber between the metal and glass. It appears to just be pressed in.

I havent changed a window in an s10 in a long time. I cant remember exactally how they go in. Is there possibly a little pin that you could knock out holding it to the track? I wish i had a door right in front of me so i could tell you.

the glass and track has to be taken loose to get the window out. U dont have to pull the track out, just have to remove the rivets holding it in, so u will probably need a hole of some sort to be able to line up the track, and regulator once u get the new glass installed on it!!
