ok.....i have a 99 s-10 bagged. i have 2 compressors and 2 tanks mounted underneath the bed. i have a solenoid which i guess distributes the power to both compressors but im not to sure about that. the connection from the battery to the solenoid seemed loose because the compressors would stop working out of nowhere and when i wiggled the connection it would spark and come back on.....well i was lossening the nut to change the connector and the whole thing snapped. so i bought a solenoid from an older ford....but the solenoid is brand new...we hooked it up exactly like before and the copressors still will not turn on unless we hardwire it from battery to compressor.....so any help would be great because i cant figure it out....thanks
I think I remember a few of my solenoids being self-grounding, while others had an actual ground post I had to use.. that was first thing that came to my mind is a ground and I'd check the solenoids ground first. Does the solenoid click?
When you hardwire it, are you using the same wire that comes from battery to solenoid, or bridging the 2 large posts on the solenoid to bypass it?
bridging it from the other 2 post....one is for the wire from the battery....1 is to a pressure switch.....1 is for the power wores and the other post is for the ground im pretty sure.....but its just not working...
You might want to try another solenoid man, but retrace all your wires to make sure nothing else is loose first. The solenoid should be letting it run if its wired correctly. Are you sure you have the comp nd the main power run on the right side of the solenoid?
yea sounds like U just got a shitty selinoid... Id bring it back and have them give u anothere one... might have gotten ur self a lemon
sounds like a bad solonoid to me too ive gotten bad one from the parts store...
