I'm thinking of swapping the rear end out of my Hardbody for the the Toyota rear end for teh 5x4.5 bolt pattern. I think I will need a 89-95 Toyota rear end but do I need the drive shaft too? I am assuming that the drive shafts do not match up. I was just going to redrill my stock axles but the hub is app. 4" in diameter and I believe that 5x4.5 measures 4.3" from the center of one stud to the other.

the shafts dont match. I took the yota end and made it fit the nissan shaft and welded it up. I havent driven it yet but if it vibrates too bad ill have it rebalanced. and if it is too bad to be even balanced ill have the driveshaft shop make a new shaft to the length of the one i made. that what i planned to do.

take it to a shop, its not worth the trouble, get a yota shaft along with the rear, measure up your stock shaft to see if its long enough to mate to the rear end, then take it to a shop. the shop i use alot only charges 65 bucks. its built on a lathe and checked for out of round with like 4 gauges.

i redrilled my stock axles wish i had done a yota cause yota is narrower and tucks your wheels better...just my opinion...

I had mine re-drilled front and back, works well, but I agree with the tuckin issue in the rear, would be nice to have a narrower rear-end.

Anyone know the width of the 89-95 yota rear end, from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface. I did a search on here but didn't come up with anything concrete. Thanks in advance.

as far as the drive shafts...all you need to do is use the yoke off of the toyota and put it on the end of your nissan driveshaft. just put it on at the universal
