what is the point of the kickdown cable on carbs and do I need one for my truck???

the point is, it's attached to the valve body in the transmission. yes you need one!! when you step on the gas hard at speed, it drops the transmissions gear lower and lets you get into a power band.

Basically if you have an auto you need it.

or shift the tranny yourself
