alright, so I've got a Colorado that's had a 3/4 frame built for the stock floor body drop, and we're having trouble finding a powdercoating shop that can handle a job as big and heavy as the frame. has anyone ever seen or thought about just shooting the frame in Line-X / Rhino Liner? so it might not be as pretty as paint or powdercoat, but it looks pretty good in the bed if they put down the clear/sealer stuff that makes it nice and shiny. it would be a bit of a pain in the ass cuz we'd have to tape off everywhere that can't have lining on it like the mounting tabs for the 4 link, etc... but I was thinking it might actually look pretty good if everything is done right. plus it would be alot more durable that paint and cheaper than both paint or powder. and most brands can color match it so it doesn't have to be just plain ole black. just bouncin some ideas around and lookin to see what anyone thinks. peace

theres a guy in columbia sc that will powdercoat an entire frame black for 300..and almost chrome for 500...ya cant beat that price..Thats what I'm gonna do with the truck I'm building and the cab has a new floor built from 1x1 tubing with 16 ga over it..I think I'm gonna line x the underside of it..
that is a great price. but I think I live just far enough away that the cost of trailering the frame to SC, having it done then driving back would prolly come up just as or even more expensive than finding someone to do it local. living in the midwest sux ball sack. thanx though, I might give it some more thought if I can't figure something out local.
anyone have any thoughts on Line-Xing the frame?

if the truck is a daily dragger i would have to say no, if you have ever seen a truck with the rockers sprayed, most of the time they're haggered, it's super hard to clean, and keep looking good. i sprayed Line-x for a while and unless you got a hook-up in the industry the boss is probably gonna charge you an arm and a leg because it's more than just tapeing off parts of the frame it's useing wire trim. that makes the job that much longer. i'm sure you can find a powdercoater for a better price and finish... but that's just my two cents.
Spray it with Por-15. looks just as good as powder coat.& is supper hard!

i am plainnig on sprayinh line x on my entire frame, under carride, inside wheel wells and inside floor for insulation plus i like the way it looked...once on monster garage they used it on the exterior body panels. plus it covers up any minor flaws that paint or powdercoat will just put on display
I wouldn't line-x it... blah that would just be ugly in my opinion.
Shop around and find a powder coating place, or paint it.
por15 looks good and is really durable. thats what im doing on my frame.
chase that owns real life kustoms has sprayed his gmc frame with a bedliner, and he also sprayed that blue ext cab taco on 20s' frame with a bedliner. i cant remember which brand, but they both looked good. dragnasty is his screenname on here.
