windshield law?

My ranger has a crack in the winshield that runs from one side to the other and up both sides... I called my insurance and they said they dont cover it cuz i only have pip and liability.... but i called the FL highway partrol and they told me that the insurance has to replace regardless of coverage as long as I have insurance?! what am I suppose to do? dont have $250 that I can drop on a new windshield? Anyone have issues with this in FL before??? any input would be help full. Later

I USED TO LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND WHEN I DID THEY ALWAYS REPLACED THEM NO QUESTIONS ASKED. IT'S THERE JOB TO KEEP THE ROADS CLEAN OF DEBRIS. ITS NOT YOUR FAULT CRAP CAME UP AND HIT THE WINDSHIELD. IN FLORIDA THEY'RE RESPONSIBLE TO REPLACE THAT.

who is your insurance company? I have state farm and they replaced my brothers windsheild and all he had was basic coverage that is required in fl. He just took it to a glass shop and they did the paper work and handeled it all. so give that a shot

i live in orlando and my friend got a new one free with worst coverage.

im with floridaa nofault. and I have the paper that just lets u drive down the street leagally I wouldnt even call it coverage cuz their really isent any and I still pay $200 a month

6page drivin record... all dumb tickets.... 2 low loud exhaust seatbelt tail lights bumper shit like that no real movin violations. 4 pages are droppin off at the end of this year then my insurance should drop like a mother fucker

Only moving violations go on your record out here in Cali. Unless you dont pay the fines for the fix it tickets. Thats alot of bread a month for basic insurance!
