window tint on a lexan?
so i got a lexan window last fall and had it limo tinted along with my other windows. everything was fine until a few days ago i noticed it starting to bubble up around all the edges. I think it started cuz its been pretty hot here the last couple of days. all my other windows are fine. Will tint not stick to a lexan, or is there anything special you have to do to get it to stick? I really dont want to have clear windows just cuz of this.
i dunno man i had a lexan window in my ranger for about 3 years and never had a problem with it. You'll hear alot of people say lexan is shit and hard to deal with but i never had any trouble out of mine. Mine came from the factory tinted so i dunno if it was tinted with a film or a spray or what but it never did anything stupid
hey man i used to work in a glass shop and tint will not stick theres something in the lexan that wont let the glus stick from the tint i know ive tried just go and buy tinted lexan its cheaper and faster
mine is tinted but not limo. i dont even think you can get lexans limo tinted from the factory can you?
buying them tinted is the way to go!
I was told Lexan breathes and also can release a very light oil under high temps and that will cause problems with tint or stickers.
the tint bubbles because the lexan flexs and the tint wont unless you heat it up with a heat gun or something iv seen two that bubbled really bad after about a year of use with the doors being closed with the windows up it pressureizes the cab a little and the window bows out some sorry for the bad luck
well im gonna try a heat gun tomarrow and see what happens
i would assume that lexan has a releaseagent much like a raw bumper. paint that shit.
well anyone wanna buy a lexan?
