Driving Without Bed in CA

Does anyone know the legalities of driving without a bed in California. I will have my tail lights and tag securely fastened to the rear of the frame. Is there anything else I need? Do cops harass you a lot?

i honetsly dont know what if there is any laws but i do know "i_love_primer" drove around with out his bed for a week with no problems who knows anyways

The only problem I could think of was not having any mudguards or some type of fender over the rear tires. If it's only for a short I don't think you'd have too much of a problem.

I would stick some mud flaps on ur truck some how...I think if u dont have fender wells, then u need something to shield other cars from debris...

Someone was telling me about the fender and mudflap thing. I just want to drive it to a show, less than 100 miles away. Just for there and back. Would I be able to get away with just mud flaps or do I actually have to have fenders of some sort? I'll make bolt on mud flaps if I have to.

i was talkin to my neighbor, said that when i get all the suspension done, that i wanna drive with the bed off
he said i could get busted for it, i dont remember the reasons though

My boy has been deiving without a bed for a year or so, as long u have working back lights and your license plate with currant reg. is located on the rear of your vehicle they will not mess with u just make shure u dont do any stupid shit in front of a cop and u will be alrght.
