i am going to do a false floor in the bed of my truck. By that i mean making a floor that will attach to the front wall of the bed on a hinge and raise up. Any of you guys ever done this? its the same idea behind a tonneau cover on top of the bed that raises up. I am thinking that i need to use a heavy duty piano style hinge. I am however unsure how to mount the hinge to the front wall of the bed. I.E. should the hinge be welded directly to the bed wall. looking like a backwards "L" or should i make a lip that sticks off the bed wall and have the hinge mount flat? i am going to sheet metal the inside of the bed and I have braced the front bed wall very well probably overkill. advice? pictures?

depending on how thick it is you could use a light weight hood hinge so that it it hidden

i was thinking of using this hinge but i am still brainstorming.
MAKE SURE TO BRACE THE FRONT WALL. LIKE RUN A PIECE OF SQUARE TUBE FROM SIDE TO SIDE TO MOUNT THE HINGES TO. TYPE OF HINGE ALL DEPENDS ON THE WEIGHT THAT IT HAS TO HOLD

BTW USE A HINGE THAT CAN BE TAKING APART. LIKE A DOOR HINGE OR SOMETHING WITH A PIN. WELL BE A HELL OF A LO EASIER TO TAKE IT PART
