SCT tuning problem...

My buddy lent me his SCT tuner to use on my car but when I went to use it it wouldnt work. He had it set on his lincoln ls but then he reset it back to stock for me to use and it shouldve worked but it didnt. Any ideas? Thanks~Jon~
