I need to get a fuel cell for my 98 F150. All i want is just a regular 20 Gallon Aluminium cell. easy to find...

What i need to know is what do i have to do so it works with my gas gauage? I can get it with a sending unit but i think its a GM unit. will that work fine? also what about a pump? will i need to buy a new pump?

On my ranger, I just rigged my stock fuel pump in my fuel cell.

you can get a sender that will match up with the ohms of your truck, check summit for it.

I am running a 15 gallon aluminum cell in my ranger. It came w/ a sending unit, but I haven't driven the truck enough since I installed it to know whether the stock gas gauge works or not. With only a gallon in it, it showd empty so I guess its pretty close to right. It is much easier to buy an external pump than to make your stock pump work. I am running an MSD 2225 that you can get from Summit for around $80. It should work on most any truck w/ a return style fuel system and its rated for up to 400hp on EFI motors.

Whatever you do...absolutely do not use a RCI unit!! One of their piece of shit fuel cells is precisely why my last truck burned!! So whatever you use, just don't use one of those. Take it from me!

i'm gonna run autometer guages and a fuel cell in my ranger. Can i use one of the sending units and pumps from summit, or the pump from summit and the sending unit from autometer?

depeds what year yoru Ranger is. if it's 98-2000 you have to run your stock pump and sending unit. it's a returnless style setup. any other year you can use any pump, sending unit and regulator as long as you set it up right.
