I was wondering what everyone thought about them, My dakota has one but it was done shitty as hell, i'm thinking about welding it back up or try and fix it.
you talkin a walk through like with a actual camper shell or just a basic cut threw from the bed to the cab? I've got a cut threw on my dakota as well, just basic cut with an accordian boot an sealed tight, never leaks, works extremely well, then my box is fiberglassed to protect from rain an shit an there's also a partial seal on the outside around the seams of the box to the bed wall, but is awesome.
If you wanna post some pics of yours i'll gladly help ya out on what you could do to make it alil better
i'll see if I can find some pics of mine as well
Are you saying the entire rear cab is gone? That would be one hell of a bitch to try and weld back up. I'd at least try and fix first, I think they're cool if you're gonna put a wall in it, other than that I'd just get a van
I always thought the term walk-through was kinda misleading. It's not like you cut a doorway in your truck big enough to walk through! it's a cool mod though for sure.
I'm talking about with a campershell, back of cab and front of bed cut out.
you can buy replacement rear cab walls & bed fronts. that's what i had to do to my tacoma when i traded it in. the dealer wouldn't give me shit for it, & instead of welding it on use Fusor...i can scan & post pics when i get home if you'd like.
good luck

i'll see if I can find some pics of mine as wellif you just have a hole in your back cab wall for a sub box that is called a blow through
And walk throughs are cool. Talk about bringing back memories.
How is yours screwed up? All you had to do was cut out the bulk head and rear cab wall slide the bed forward put a some rubber seal all the way around the edges and a little rtd in between for good measure. (thats what they did in an ole MT tech article)
And the reason they call them walk throughs because back in the day they put seats in the back and you had to "walk through" the back of the cab to get there.

On mine they cut straight down under the back window, instead of cutting the whole front panel of the bed out they cut it and folded it into the cab to cover the gap it does have the boot around the sides and top of the window.
sorry, i never got to it, my pc at home took a dump, but i'll have it up & running again & get you those pics sometime this week.
